Sustainable standards verification organisation 4C has reported a 213 per cent increase in the amount of verified coffee sold in the 2011-12 coffee year, rising from 48,617 tonnes to 152,000 tonnes. The organisation’s annual report also states that the amount of avalailable verified coffee has risen by 49 per cent, from 906,348 tonnes to almost 1.8 million tonnes. Membership has also grown from 150 to 250 members, including the Fairtrade Organisation. The 4C Annual report can be viewed here.
