The Alliance of Coffee Excellence (ACE) has appointed Sherri Johns as the new Director of Marketing, Training and Events. Announced on 26 April, John’s new position will see her coordinate international conferences, training courses, marketing and assist in planning development projects for the ACE. “Sherri has years of experience in diverse geographical regions setting up successful coffee events, coordinating marketing and training as well as a contributing writer for food and coffee publications,” says Susie Spindler, ACE’s Executive Director. “Her knowledge of the marketplace…gives her a unique perspective to take ACE to its next level of success.” Johns was chosen for her experience and knowledge of the specialty coffee industry. She has judged multiple Cup of Excellence competitions and has held management positions with Whole Cup Consulting and Ultimate Barista Challenge programs. The ACE owns and manages the Cup of Excellence program. In 2012 The Cup of Excellence will be hosted in Brazil, Nicaragua, Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, Costa Rica, Mexico, Rwanda, Burundi and Columbia.
