The world’s leading expo for artisan ice cream, confectionery and bakery businesses, Sigep, will introduce the Affogato al Caffe Award when it takes place in Rimini, Italy, from 18 – 22 January 2014. Ten baristas will compete for the prize on 19 January. They will have six cream-based gelato flavours, made by the World Gelato Cup contestants at their disposal and will use Portioli Torrefazione coffee. A panel of judges, including the current champion gelato artisan Leonardo Ceschin, will elect the best Affogato al caffè. Sigep will also host the Italian Barista Championships, the Gelato World Cup and the Italian Pastry Championships.
