Allegra Strategies announced on 6 February that it will hold the first Amsterdam Coffee Festival (ACF) in The Netherlands from 2 – 3 May 2014 at NDSM werf. It will feature The True Aritsan Café, a highlight of The London Coffee Festival, as well as a live music stage, Espresso Martini Bar, and ‘The Lab’ seminar and workshop program. Organisers announced that the festival will integrate seven key themes “to provide an exciting visitor experience” including artisan coffee culture, coffee education and training, enticing street food, musical talent, inspiring art related to coffee, Dutch culture and iconography, and water charity. . The Amsterdam Coffee Festival will be the flagship event for the charitable Coffee Week NL 2014, which will raise funds for the Project Waterfall initiative to deliver clean water projects in some of the poor coffee producing countries. The festival will host the 2014 Dutch Barista Championships, organised by the Dutch Chapter of the Specialty Coffee Association of Europe
