The Alliance for Coffee Excellence (ACE) has expanded its Portland office by hiring two new team members. Lindsay Amor and Chris Wade will be working on the Cup of Excellence project, training in group cuppings, and administration. Wade has been appointed to the newly created position of Cup of Excellence Head Judge and Trainer. Wade has 16 years of coffee experience. For the past seven years, Wade has served on the Specialty Coffee Association of America (SCAA) Roasters Guild Executive Council and is the current Immediate Past Chair. Wade has taught roasting and cupping classes internationally and has developed roasting curriculum with the SCAA. Wade previously worked for Coffee Bean International where he was in charge of green quality coffee. He will be serving his first post as Cup of Excellence Head Judge in the Colombian competition in August. Amor, who will be Administrative Assistant, has previously worked in Japan and holds a Bachelors of Arts in International Affairs from Lewis and Clark College. She has conversational fluency in Japanese will be an asset in corresponding with the international community that make up the Alliance for Coffee Excellence membership. Japan is a popular market for Cup of Excellence coffee.
