The Alliance for Coffee Excellence (ACE) has announced the appointment of Anna Abatzoglou as Marketing and Membership Senior Manager.
She will support the organisation’s channels of business, which include the Cup of Excellence competition, Sensory Educational Training (SET) program, and other fundraising efforts as the organisation grows and expands programs worldwide.
Abatzoglou brings a decade of comprehensive marketing experience in the food and beverage industry, previously serving as the Director of Marketing for Corwin Beverage, Rogue Ales & Spirits, and as Brand Manager for Philadelphia-based Clemens Food Group. She was also ACE’s Membership and Marketing Manager for two years, helping to establish its Portland headquarters in 2013.
“We are so pleased to have Anna’s deep experience in not only our program, but also the beverage industry. Her passion for ACE and our Cup of Excellence program has proved itself from her previous role with us. We look to Anna to boost and increase our membership and overall global posture to support coffee producers and our engaged membership,” says ACE Executive Director Darrin Daniel.
Abatzoglou holds an MBA from Portland State University and a Bachelor of Business Administration with a focus in international business from University of Portland.
ACE is growing the 20-year-old Cup of Excellence competition, which helps source the world’s best coffees and rewards the farmers who produce it. This year will see a new Cup of Excellence competition in Ethiopia and a pilot program in Ecuador.
Additionally, the SET program will expand offerings into Dubai and Australia as demand for specialty coffee grows worldwide.
