Italian espresso machine manufacturer Astoria has announced it has been chosen as the is official machine provider for the World Latte Art (WLA) and World Coffee in Good Spirits (WCIGS) championships, to be held in Gothenburg, Sweden, 16 – 18 June. Astoria will unveil a special version of its flagship machine, the Plus4You TS, for the Nordic World of Coffee Events. “The competition version will boast a number of features designed to support the champions who will compete against each other in latte art and signature drinks,” said Astoria, in a statement. “It will be a broad tribute to the art of coffee that goes beyond technology to touch upon the dreams and ideas associated with coffee.” Astoria is narrating the stages of creating its competition machine through its #RoadToGothenburg project. The company is planning to document the work of the Plus4You team and the different phases of the machines development. Astoria has released its first video in which it asks Astoria employees: “What is your challenge?” The teaser video coincides with the launch of a new content section on the Astoria website. The company intends to continue publishing its #RoadToGothenburg videos to this new section of its website.
