The Barista Guild of America (BGA) is introducing a new event concept this year to Los Angeles, California on 03 March. BGA’s Bloom – Coffee Conversations In Motion – will feature presentations from thought leaders addressing issues relating to the craft coffee community. The audience will have the opportunity to ask questions at the end of each session, with the intention of creating meaningful dialogue between Bloom attendees and presenters. Bloom is hosting satellite events in various locations throughout the United States, including at Counter Culture Coffee in New York and Atlanta, Madcap Coffee Company in Washington, Olam Coffee in Providence and Austin Coffee Society in Austin. BGA is planning to record each session and make them available to the Satellite Bloom events, which will take place later that day. The hosts are encouraged to combine the recorded presentations with their own local speakers. BGA is hoping that through cloud-based messaging tool, Slack, attendees will create a common dialogue and interaction. Speakers at the Los Angeles event include Katie Carguilo, Quality Analyst at Counter Culture Coffee, Charles Babinski, Co-founder of G&B Coffee and GO Get Em Tiger, Arion Paylo, and Director of Café Development at Blue Bottle Coffee.
