Equipment manufacturer Bühler has announced the creation of its new Consumer Foods segment, effective from 1 January 2019. “With this move, we can create significant value for our customers and position ourselves as clear leader in the growing consumer foods market,” Bühler CEO Stefan Scheiber says. Bühler says combining its current chocolate, nuts, bakery and coffee operations with its recently acquired Haas wafer products business, will allow the new organisation to better support customers in global markets. Germar Wacker (pictured), now CEO of Haas, will lead the new segment and join Bühler’s executive board.
“With this new, strong business pillar in the field of processing technologies in consumer foods, we can offer specialised knowledge as well as research and development to the needs of our customers in that sector,” Wacker says. Since its acquisition in January 2018, Haas has operated as a separate Bühler business. Bühler says the integration showed remarkable results in a very short time, and the new organisation is the logical next step to serve customers from one single point of origin. The Bühler Group calls the creation of the new business segment a milestone in its more than 150 year history. Consumer Foods will join Bühler’s existing segments, Advanced Materials, and Grains and Food. For more information, visit www.buhlergroup.com
