One hundred and forty nine Cup of Excellence competition-winning coffees will be fought over by buyers in six online auctions, finishing 9 July. A select group of international cuppers who traveled to Nicaragua, El Salvador, Honduras, Guatemala, Costa Rica and Mexico chose the coffees to be auctioned. Of the winning farmers, 14 received the Presidential Award having scored over 90 points from the group of cuppers. “These amazing farmers have once again surprised us with their innovative approach to producing fabulous coffees even as many of them have struggled with the devastating rust outbreak,” said Susie Spindler, Executive Director of Alliance for Coffee Excellence and Co-Founder of Cup of Excellence, in a statement.
