Italian coffee machine manufacturer Carimali has appointed Cosimo Libardo as its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO). “I am looking forward to working with this great brand and company, it has immense potential and an unconventional approach,” Cosimo Libardo says. “I am honoured to be part of this exciting project aiming to change the rules and to support a better future for our industry.” Carimali manufactures fully automatic and traditional espresso machines, specialising in extraction technology and brewing solutions. With strong growth in the United Kingdom, Japan, Germany, China and Benelux (Belgium, the Netherlands, and Luxembourg), Libardo says it was the company’s use of modern technology and a shared vision with Carimali Executive President Andrea Doglioni Majer that attracted him to the position. “This was an opportunity too good to pass up. Carimali is a machine manufacturer that isn’t just a machine manufacturer, not in the way they approach the market,” Libardo says. “Carimali is doing lots of interesting work with its telemetry system called CARIcare. It’s an incredibly healthy company with the right mentality. It’s nimble with lots of potential. I see this as a very exciting project and opportunity for me to leave my mark.” Carimali is a privately owned group of companies devoted to the production and sales of beverage equipment based in Bergamo, Italy. “Carimali has developed a solid platform in key markets and sees the opportunity to expand over new areas of the coffee industry,” Doglioni says. “Cosimo’s arrival is part of the plan to broaden our market influence leveraging on our technological expertise”. For more than 20 years, Libardo has actively innovated in the coffee sector, contributing to the growth of the specialty coffee movement as a volunteer with the Specialty Coffee Association and is one of five directors of the Specialty Coffee Association of America. The long-time Nuova Simonelli Director of Sales and Marketing moved to Australia almost four years ago to take the position of Toby’s Estate Coffee Managing Director. Libardo will begin the new role with Carimali in October.
