Carimali celebrates 100th anniversary with a look to the future

Italian espresso machine manufacturer Carimali will celebrate its 100th anniversary on 23 October with a one-day conference. On the back of HostMilano 2019, “Go higher look further: a peek into coffee’s future” will see seven speakers observe and analyse the future of the coffee world according to their different points of view. These speakers include:
• Anabella Meneses, producer and Co-owner of Santa Felisa farm in Guatemala
• Christina Meinl, Head of Global Innovations at Julius Meinl
• Gregory Scace, mechanical engineer
• Mario Fernández Alduenda, Senior Director of the Coffee Quality Insititute;
• Colin Harmon, Managing Director of 3fe
• Yannis Apostolopoulos, Executive Director of the Specialty Coffee Association, and
• Professor Chahan Yeretzian (pictured) of the Zurich University of Applied Sciences and Coffee Excellence Center. “The event represents an occasion to emphasise the importance that Carimali gives to training and knowledge in the coffee world,” Carimali CEO Cosimo Libardo says. “Specialty coffee is changing profoundly, starting from the work of small artisan coffee roasters up to the curiosity of the final consumer, [who is] increasingly educated and prepared. Being up-to-date, competitive, and aware of the changes in place is the only way to keep up with new market needs.” The conference will be followed with a tour of Carimali’s headquarters in Chignolo d'Isola, Italy. The company says it will follow the day’s proceedings with more events that combine its past, present and future. The event is free and will be held in English.
