For the first time in 21 years Coffee Fest will not host a show in Seattle. Event organisers say that the decision follows the Specialty Coffee Association of America’s (SCAA) move to host its annual event there in 2014 and 2015. Coffee Fest will host its first Portland show at the Oregon Convention Centre, the complex that hosted the SCAA Event in 2012. “We have cherished our time in Seattle and all the people that were there since the start,” said David Heilbrunn, Show Manager of Coffee Fest, in a statement. “Hosting the end of the year show in Portland is a big step. We are excited to bring our show and love of coffee to this vibrant coffee community.” Heilbrunn said that organisers are confident that hosting the show in Portland will help draw attention to the great coffeehouses, tea and specialty coffee available in the region. Coffee Fest produces three trade shows annually, strategically positioned in Atlanta, Chicago and now Portland from 17 ¬– 19 October 2014.
