Coffee for Peace, an initiative that develops and promotes traceable coffees from historic conflict zones, has launched an online micro-lot program on 18 March 2020.

The program will use the Cropster Hub virtual shop to connect farmers to international buyers.

“Through the micro-lot program, we are showcasing the best Colombian coffees to the world,” says Juan Camilo Ramos, Chief Commercial Officer of the National Federation of Coffee Growers of Colombia (FNC).

The system will promote transparency and farmers will be guaranteed a large portion of purchases.

The site is launching with nine coffees from regions where Coffee for Peace operates, with new coffees to be added each week. Buyers will be able to view farmer information, price, request samples, and have access to an unprecedented level of information.

“Coffee for Peace is supporting us in promoting these coffees so that producers in conflict areas can have a dignifying source of income and can be rewarded for the high-quality coffee they produce. We believe this is a valuable contribution to peace consolidation in Colombia,” Ramos says.
