Costa Coffee has cleaned up at the European Coffee Awards, taking home Best Coffee Chain Europe for the fourth consecutive year. Costa Coffee’s Managing Director Andy Marshall was honoured with the Life Time Achievement Award, in front of more than 400 guests who gathered for the event. Timberyard, which has two coffee shops in London, was named as Best Independent Coffee Shop – Europe. Five individual awards were given out to personalities identified for their Outstanding Contribution to the Coffee Industry in their country or across Europe. Mario Pascucci, Managing Director, Caffè Pascucci, Italy; Nick Tolley, Co-Founder, Harris + Hoole, Britain; Tim Sturk, Head of Training, BaxterStorey, Britain; John Nylon, CEO, Espresso House, Sweden and Gennaro Pelliccia, Production Technical Manager, Costa Coffee, Britain were among the awardees. The ceremony was held at during a black tie gala dinner at the InterContinental, Istanbul as part of the European Coffee Symposium.
