Global coffee chain Costa Coffee is trialling a 24-hour drive-thru at its Leicester Meridian East store in the United Kingdom, ahead of potential further roll out.
From 22 November, the store is trialling operating the drive-thru lane overnight from 10pm to 5am, with both the store and drive-thru lane open daily from 5am to 10pm.
To support the new operating hours, Costa Coffee has invested in four additional team members to help serve the local community.
In a statement, Costa Coffee said the initiative reflects its commitment to serving customers at all times including those providing a vital service to the local community such as healthcare professionals, hospitality and retail workers, and delivery drivers.
“Costa Coffee has always been at the heart of the community and this trial is another way for us to serve our customers when they need us most,” says Matt Harman, Costa Coffee Regional Operations Director for North and Central England.
“We’re proud that our Leicester Meridian East Drive-Thru is the first store to trial this exciting initiative. Whether it’s a late-night coffee run or picking up an early breakfast for commuters, our team is ready to deliver the Costa Coffee experience around the clock.”
The company will carefully monitor feedback from customers and the local community throughout the trial to make informed decisions about the potential to roll out 24-hour trading across additional locations in the future.
