COTECA, Europe’s only business meeting to bring together the coffee, tea and cocoa industries at one venue, took place at Hamburg Messe und Congress from 10 to 12 October. “Together with our partner, the Kaffee Campus of the German Roasters Guild, we succeeded in meeting the high expectations of exhibitors and visitors, covering the current industry insights and trends and communicating them from Hamburg to the world,” says Bernd Aufderheide, President and CEO Hamburg Messe und Congress. COTECA presented a wide range of workshops, lectures and tastings covering an array of topics, ranging from everyday consumption to beverage trends. COTECA says the new Speakers’ Corner was a big attraction, giving exhibitors and experts a forum to share their insights with visitors and discuss the industry’s current topics. “We are very happy at the great success of the second German Kaffee Campus at COTECA 2018. It was even more lively and better attended than in 2016,” says Enver Atabay, Chairman of the German Roasters Guild. “We took the opportunity for a wider view in our conferences, workshops and cuppings, and addressed not only coffee subjects but also tea – that was very well received by the expert audience.” Two hundred exhibitors from approximately 40 nations showcased their products and services at the event. Approximately 3600 trade visitors from 75 countries came to the Hamburg Messe to network and do business. The first COTECA Asia will be held in Bangkok from 27 to 29 November, 2019. The next COTECA in Hamburg is scheduled for autumn 2020.
