COTECA, the only industry expo in Europe to combine the coffee, tea and cocoa sectors, will take place from 10 to 12 October at Hamburg Messe und Congress in Germany. “Hamburg is Europe’s number one hub for handling coffee, tea and cocoa. COTECA will combine all three sectors again this year for the fifth time, bringing together international suppliers and buyers for a three-day event,” says Claudia Johannsen, Business Unit Director at Hamburg Messe and Congress. “It’s a special atmosphere in the exhibition halls when the world meets at COTECA. It’s a great pleasure to host an event with so many different exhibitors from various nations of the world.” The Kaffee Campus of the German Roasters Guild will be held for the second time at the event. “The German Roasters Guild, together with its 130-member companies, has set itself the goal of upholding the craft of artisan roasting and maintaining diversity in the coffee industry,” says Enver Atabay, Chairman of the German Roasters Guild. “This year’s programme includes both new entrants to the industry and coffee experts, presenting a wide range of products with new, creative solutions and plenty of inspiration for visitors’ own business.” Two hundred exhibitors from 40 nations will participate at COTECA, presenting their products, services and innovations to an expert international audience. Subjects will range from contaminants in coffee to efficient roasting management to coffee sensors. Legal issues such as German emissions legislation and its impact on coffee roasters, new packaging laws, and regulations that roasters have to comply with from 2019 onwards will also be discussed at the event A satellite program will also enable visitors to participate in an excursion to a green coffee warehouse.
