Australian-owned and operated, global packaging company, Detmold Group has confirmed the sale of its non-core Flexibles business to Amcor. In a statement, the company said that the confirmation of the sale has helped strengthen its market position by committing to long term packaging manufacturing in Australia. “The recent sale of our Flexibles division to Amcor Flexibles completes a strategic initiative that commenced in 2011,” said Detmold Packaging CEO, Alf Ianniello, in a statement.
“It illustrates our commitment to concentrate on growth and further investment in the company’s core capability of Paper and Board products. Since the company's inception in 1948, Detmold has continued to place a significant focus on retaining a sustainable manufacturing presence in the Australian market, the company stated. The companty recently invested AU$2 million into its Adelaide plant, with more planned in the 2015 financial year.
The Detmold Group’s current operations sees head office and the R&D hub located in Adelaide with its global business boasting 18 offices across the world and manufacturing plants in Australia, Indonesia, China, Vietnam and South Africa.
