Swiss grinder manufacturer Ditting will be present at the Swiss Pavilion at Gulfood, taking place from 23 – 27 February at the Dubai World Trade Centre. The event is a major international trade fair in the Middle East for hotels, gastronomy, hospitality and food technology. Following an increase in the number of exhibitors and visitors in recent years, the Trade Fair will be extended to a five-day event in 2014. Around 4,500 exhibitors will be presenting their new products in Dubai, while 110 international pavilions organised as joint stands will attract visitors from the whole Arab region. Ditting, a Swiss manufacturer of high-quality coffee grinders, will be presenting its products for making espresso and filtered coffee at stand S-E20 in the Swiss pavilion. Last year Ditting saw record growth in the Middle East, as well as from the adjacent Gulf region. The company will feature its innovative Horeca range of grind-on-demand grinders, however will focus on the performance and precision of Ditting retail grinders for fine Turkish coffee grinding. Ditting retail grinders are capable of Turkish coffee grinding with a fine grind setting of up to 125 micrometres, and a grinding output of up to 550 grams of coffee per minute. Due to their compact size, the grinders are ideal for coffee shops and retail stores, as well as small roasters. One of the special highlights is the 1800 retail grinder, which can fine grind up to 3.5 kilograms of Turkish coffee per minute. During Gulfood, Ditting will be working with renowned Swiss coffee roaster Blaser Cafe in Berne to supply coffee and prepare drinks at their stand. The Speciality Coffee Association of Europe (SCAE) will offer various workshops, certifications and competitions in the art of coffee preparation at the Gulfood in Dubai, in cooperation with Ditting. Ditting is a long-term supporter of the SCAE and the specialist coffee industry, supporting international events by providing its grinders and knowledge, and promoting local coffee culture in Switzerland. In 2014, Ditting will once again be a Gold Sponsor of the Swiss Coffee Championships, held in St. Gallen from 7 – 9 February, organised by the Swiss SCAE for the 15th time. At the championships, over 70 Swiss coffee specialists will compete in the Barista, Latte Art, Cup Tasting and Brewers Cup competition. The respective winners of the four competitions will represent Switzerland at the 2014 World Championships in Rimini and Melbourne.
