Over 10,000 people from more than 100 countries are expected to converge in Dublin for World of Coffee next June 23 – 25. Owned and organised by the Speciality Coffee Association of Europe (SCAE), World of Coffee brings together coffee professionals from across the globe to discuss emerging trends and industry issues, and to see the latest products and equipment. In its 16th year, World of Coffee is heading to the Irish capital, a city of just over 1.4-million, and an emerging specialty coffee scene. “Dubliner’s love their coffee and this growing passion for coffee is why we had to come to this exciting city for the first time,” said SCAE Executive Director, David Veal. There will be a full program of activities in the pipeline, Re:Co, the European coffee summit, will bring stakeholders and strategists together to debate the big issues affecting the industry. A New Trends Zone will also help visitors keep abreast of the latest developments in coffee, shining a spotlight on new products. A new dedicated Food & Beverage seminar will highlight how the wider hospitality industry can boost profit margins by embracing coffee excellence. Wrold of Coffee will also play host to the World Barista Championship, the World Brewer’s Cup, SCAE Excellence Awards, New Product of the Show Awards and Photography Awards, as well as exclusive cuppings, educational workshops and seminars. Since its conception in a hotel conference room in Monte Carlo in 2000, SCAE’s celebration of coffee has travelled across Europe, with new features being added along the way. Over the years World of Coffee has visited Cologne, London, Maastricht, Vienna, Nice, Rimini and Gothenburg, to name just a few. “In Dublin, we will continue to set trends, push boundaries and lead innovation in this vibrant industry and we look forward to this being the biggest and best event in the show’s history,” said Veal. World of Coffee will visit Budapest in 2017, Amsterdam in 2018 and Berlin in 2019.
