The European branded coffee shop market experienced a growth of 3.7 per cent in 2013, hospitality research consultancy Allegra Strategies has reported. According to Allegra Strategies, Turkey has been a major contributor to this growth, with an estimated annual growth of 10.4 per cent. Industry experts will have the opportunity to experience some of Turkey’s 1,331 outlets for themselves when the European Coffee Symposium is held in Istanbul this November. Now in its seventh year, the event will take place from 24 – 26 November at The InterContinental. According to organisers, the conference will provide delegates with fresh ideas on how to explore new avenues of business development and growth. With contributions from industry thought leaders, the program aims to deliver relevant and actionable business insights and offer valuable networking opportunities. According to Allegra Strategies, attendees will have the opportunity to meet with over 120 buyers and purchasing managers from Europe's largest operators, including Costa Coffee, McCafé, Starbucks, Compass Group, Shell, Caffe Nero, Aramark and Sodexo. Those travelling to Turkey will also have the opportunity to attend the European Coffee Awards Gala Dinner, on 25 November. The European Coffee Awards recognise company and individual excellence across the sector.
