Coffee machine manufacturer Evoca Group has acquired Quality Espresso SA, the largest Spanish manufacturer of food service espresso coffee machines. The acquisition bolsters Evoca’s position in the Ho.Re.Ca. market, significantly expanding its existing range of manual espresso machines while leveraging Quality Espresso’s expertise. It also supports the development of innovative technologies, such as telemetry, currently offered for Quality Espresso ranges of manual machines. Evoca’s goal is to develop Quality Espresso further, keeping its current structure and enhancing its manufacturing site in Barcelona, Spain. Evoca also intends to support Quality Espresso in developing its product range and promoting sales abroad, by leveraging the Evoca commercial network worldwide. With a heritage going back to 1952, Espresso Quality employs 150 people, and exports to more than 90 countries from its 17,000 square meter facility in Barcelona. “The acquisition of Quality Espresso strengthens our development strategy in the Ho.Re.Ca. sector and complements the planned relaunch of the iconic Gaggia brand,” says Andrea Zocchi, Chief Executive Officer of EVOCA S.p.A. “We look forward to beginning the integration process that will allow Evoca to approach the market with an enriched proposal in terms of expertise, quality products and services, on a wider global scale.”
Jorge Roure Boada, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Quality Espresso S.A says the acquisition will facilitate a “global expansion” of its business and provide new opportunities for all of our employees and customers. The Evoca Group was established in 2000 with the name N&W Global Vending, as a result of the integration of Necta and Wittenborg, both of which brought together expertise dating back more than 90 years. Evoca carries eight brands including Necta, Wittenborg, Saeco, Gaggia, Ducale, SGL, Newis and Cafection, each with its individual identity, which are highly synergetic with Evoca’s mission. Today, the company has more than 10,000 customers in more than 100 countries around the world. With its headquarters in Bergamo, Italy, Evoca also has a global presence with eight production sites, six research and development centres, and more than 600 registered patents.
