Coffee Kids announced on 19 September that its Executive Director, Carolyn Fairman, is stepping down from her long-tenured position. The charitable organisation reported that Fairman has accepted the position of Chief of Staff with the Specialty Coffee Association of America (SCAA). The Coffee Kids Board of Directors said it will closely guide this transition in leadership over the next few months, and expects to complete the process by the end of the year.
“I have had the honor and the great pleasure to work for one of the leading development organisations in the coffee industry for over 13 years,” said Fairman in a statement. “It is with great sadness that I say goodbye to this work, while at the same time, I welcome the opportunity to work with the SCAA, another highly respected organisation.”
“Carolyn has been a huge asset to the organisation, and most importantly, coffee-farming families around the world.” said Mike Ebert, Coffee Kids Board President, in the statement. “She will be missed, and we wish her all the best in her new position. Our search committee will ensure a smooth leadership transition that will support staff, donors and the organisation's partners in the process.”
Coffee Kids is a development organisation, with a mandate to improve the lives and livelihoods of coffee-farming families. Founded in 1988, the organisation works closely with partners in coffee-growing communities to create programs that respect the values, cultural integrity and ingenuity of
