Food&HotelVietnam2013 (FHV2013) will be held from 24 – 26 April 2013 at the Saigon Exhibition & Convention Center (SECC). Organisers announced that the next show will take place over 8,880 square metres of exhibition space, housing over 380 exhibitors from 30 countries/regions. The biennial food and hospitality trade show is designed to present a window of opportunity to regional and international exhibitors keen to enter Vietnam, and establish contact with local distributors and sellers from across the region. The show provides exposure to markets inside and outside Vietnam in the the Indochina regions – Cambodia, Laos and Myanmar. “Into its seventh edition, FHV has grown in leaps and bounds since its inception in 2004, and is now firmly established as a must-attend trade show in the mindsets of the Vietnamese food and hospitality communities,” said Ting Siew Mui, Project Director of Lifestyle Events for the show's Singapore Exhibition Services (SES), in a statement. “Never taking a backseat, we continuously review ways to evolve the event’s format so that it can better serve our participants.” Ting said that this year, exhibitors can leverage on an extended focus outside of Vietnam to the growing markets of Indochina. Organisers said they plan work with the local media and related associations to further widen the industry’s awareness of regional participants. Following on from FHV2011, which saw 12,000 visitors, FHV2013 will present a wide mixture of international group pavilions, supported by respective government bodies or trade associations. More than 10 international group pavilions are expected to be unveiled. Nearly 100 group delegations from leading enterprises in Vietnam attended FHV2011, including Ho Chi Minh City’s largest convenience store operator, Shop & Go JSC, Starcity Saigon Hotel, Sheraton, Saigon Hotel & Towers, Victoria Can Tho Resort, Saigontourist Holding Company, and Ho Chi Minh City’s only airline caterer, Vietnam Air Caterers. The 2013 event will serve as hosts to the Vietnam Barista Competition (VBC) and Vietnam Culinary Challenge (VNCC). The VBC will attract baristas from all over Vietnam to compete, with the winner going to to represent the country at the FHA Barista Challenge 2014 held in Singapore. The VNCC is organised by the Saigon Professional Chefs Guild, and aims to elevate the stature of Vietnamese cooking. Now in its fifth edition, the competition will see various local chefs from reputable restaurants and hotels pit against one another to win the coveted title of Grand Champion. FHV2013 is organised by Singapore Exhibition Services Pte Ltd and local organiser VCCI Exhibition Service Co Ltd.
