The Swiss Franke Group acquired a majority stake in Italian coffee machine manufacturer Dalla Corte at the end of June. The Milan-based Dalla Corte produces traditional portafilter espresso machines in the premium segment for private and professional use. The company was founded by the Dalla Corte family in 2001 and is known for its multi-boiler technology – developed and patented in the same year – which Franke calls a benchmark for the semi-automatic espresso machine sector. “As a manufacturer of traditional espresso machines, Dalla Corte focuses on the essentials: the consistently perfect espresso taste which, thanks to innovative technology, meets the highest quality standards,” Franke Group CEO Patrik Wohlhauser says. “In Dalla Corte, we have found a partner that shares the same values as Franke in terms of quality, technology and innovation. I am convinced that this combination will be positive for both sides.” Dalla Corte will continue to manage its business from the company’s head office in Italy as an independent brand and company and thereby concentrate on its existing distribution channels. Franke says the workforce under Paolo Dalla Corte's leadership will remain and continue its efforts to stand out from the competition through innovative strength. “We are proud of the merger with Franke and convinced of the possibility of great growth potential to further strengthen our international business,” Dalla Corte Founder and CEO Paolo Dalla Corte says. “With Franke at our side, we can face future market challenges more effectively and expand our status as a technological leader in the semi-automatic coffee machine sector.” For more information, visit coffee.franke.com or www.franke-group.com Follow Global Coffee Report on LinkedIn, Facebook, and Twitter for up-to-date news and analysis of the global coffee industry Image: Dalla Corte
