Leaders from across the coffee industry will come together in New York for Allegra’s World Coffee Portal CEO Forum on 24 September. Keynote speakers include Starbucks United States Group President, Cliff Burrows. As Group President, Burrows is responsible for all of Starbucks operations in the United States, Canada and Latin America. As a keynote presenter, Burrows will provide insight into the US coffee market. “We’ve arranged an extremely rare and exciting speaker line-up,” said Allegra Founder and CEO, Jeffrey Young. “Top leaders from the global coffee and food-to-go sector will gather for the day of thought-leadership, insights and networking.” Square Mile Coffee Roasters Founder and CEO, James Hoffmann and La Colombe Founder and CEO, Todd Carmichael will also guest speak. Carmichael will give his advice for growing a specialty coffee company. Costa Coffee UK and Ireland Managing Director, Jim Slater’s topic is: The most important ingredient in our coffee. S&D Coffee and Tea Vice President Sustainability, Tracy Ging will discuss young coffee drinkers and the importance of sustainable sourcing. In addition to hearing from other big names in the industry, the New York CEO Forum will give attendees the opportunity to celebrate at its Gala Dinner event. Following the Gala Dinner, guests will be treated to live music and a charity art auction. Allegra’s World Coffee Portal CEO Forum will take place in conjunction with the first-ever New York Coffee Festival. “What makes this event really stand out from the rest, is that we are incorporating our world renowned coffee festival model and charity work into the event program,” said Young. “Attendees of the CEO Forum will be invited as VIPs to the trade day of the New Coffee Festival and have the chance to help raise money for Project Waterfall during the evenings charity art auction.” The New York Coffee Festival will run from 25 – 27 September, featuring live demonstrations from more than 70 coffee, food and equipment suppliers.
