Half year global coffee exports up by 3.7 million bags

World coffee exports rose by seven per cent in the first six months of the 2012-13 coffee year, to 56.1 million bags from 52.4 million in the same period in 2011-12. The figures from the International Coffee Organisation showe that, despite this growth, exports amounted to 9.61 million bags in March 2013, compared with 10.0 million in March 2012. In the twelve months ending March 2013, exports of Arabica totalled 67.3 million bags compared to 65.3 million bags last year; whereas Robusta exports amounted to 45.9 million bags compared to 38.9 million bags.
