The FHA Barista Challenge and the inaugural FHA Latte Challenge were held as part of the SpecialtyCoffee&Tea show for Food&HotelAsia (FHA) from 8 – 11 April in Singapore. Hiroko Hana from New Zealand won the FHA Barista Challenge, scoring points for her technical skills, and the presentation and taste of her coffee. The FHA Barista Challenge and FHA Latte Challenge aimed to advance the barista profession and promote specialty coffee in the region, according to a statement from the FHA. “The various competitions added excitement to the FHA exhibition,” said Managing Director of CIR vis, Chris Glaessel, in a statement. SpecialtyCoffee&Tea showcased a range of coffee products, equipment and services as part of the FHA exhibition. As Asia’s largest food and hospitality trade show it attracted 3213 exhibitors and 64,826 visitors from right across the globe. “We’ve come a long way over the years, growing the show to become Asia’s key business platform for the food and hospitality industries,” said Stephen Tan, Chief Executive of show organiser, Singapore Exhibition Services. “Going beyond being a sourcing ground for the regional industry, the show is also a knowledge-sharing platform and an international competition arena.”
