The next session of the International Coffee Council is taking place at the International Coffee Organisation (ICO) headquarters in London from 22 – 26 September. During the week, the ICO will hold the 4th Consultative Forum on Coffee Sector Finance: Bridging the Gap Between Farmers and Finance. The forum is an initiative designed to generate discussion on topics related to risk management and investment for coffee growers. “The objective is to establish a direct dialogue with financial multilateral institutions, donors, and other actors in the field, to discuss and implement concrete plans for poverty alleviation and wealth creation in rural communities which depend on coffee production,” said the ICO, in a statement. A range of experts within the coffee industry will attend the international forum and other ICO meetings held throughout the week. Anyone interested in attending the forum must register before 12 September.
