La Marzocco launched its Out Of The Box signature event for the first time in London from 13 – 14 December, hosting the UK Latte Art Championship. Over 400 people attended the event, including roasters, coffee equipment manufacturers, suppliers, café owners, baristas and coffee enthusiasts. The one day event focuses on coffee and parallel fields of business and trade. More than 20 baristas competed in the National UK Latte Art Championship. Dhan Tamang of Caracoli Coffee took home 1st, Kunha Hwang of Poilane took home 2nd and Luke Evans of Roasted took home 3rd place. The day’s program included Q&A panels, interactive workshops, technical and educational sessions as well as talks on design, direct trade, and pressure profiling. The event streamed live the 3rd round of FIA Formula-e from Punta del Este, Uruguay in light of La Marzocco’s role in the support of the international “clean energy” event, which began in Shanghai in September and will conclude in London in June 2015. La Marzocco international staff joined Lorenzo Carboni, international Sales Director at La Marzocco and Managing Director at La Marzocco UK and Paul Kelly, Sales Director UK & Ireland. “Feedback has been great with people already enquiring when the next Out of the Box will be,” said Kelly in a statement.
