Swedish coffee roaster Löfbergs and hotel company Strawberry are extending their long-standing partnership with a new two-year agreement.

The agreement builds on the companies’ more than 20-year partnership that focuses on sustainable business practices. It now includes more than 240 hotels across Sweden, Norway, Denmark, and Finland.

“Now we can continue to serve good and sustainably certified coffee to our guests. Since Löfbergs is at the forefront when it comes to sustainability, we can also continue to develop our sustainability work, which is incredibly important to us,” says Kristian Vik, Category Manager Food and Beverages at Strawberry.

Löfbergs CEO Anders Fredriksson says the company is happy and proud that the long-standing partnership with Strawberry continues.

“It shows that our focus on taste experiences, a wide range of services, and responsibility is appreciated by our customers,” he says.

An important part of the collaboration is to demonstrate the tangible effects of serving organic and Fairtrade-certified coffee. Löfbergs has developed a sustainability receipt that highlights what Strawberry’s purchases contribute from an environmental and social perspective.

“By serving sustainably certified coffee, Strawberry and their guests contribute to coffee farmers increasing their income by €310,000 (US$319,298) per year. Additionally, they help convert an area equivalent to 460 football fields to organic production, without artificial fertilisers and pesticides,” says Anders.

Kristian adds: “With this, we show how partnerships can drive sustainable development, while our guests get to enjoy really good coffee.”

Strawberry’s hotels are marketed under Comfort Hotel, Quality Hotel, Clarion Hotel, and Clarion Collection Hotel, as well as over 40 independent hotels.
