Mahlkoenig is set to unveil a new, ventilated variant of its successful K30 grinder f undefined

rom 8 – 13 March at Internorga 2013.

The 'K30 Air' is the latest innovation from Mahlkoenig, designed to provide higher daily output and more consistent tastes. The Hamburg-based grinder manufacturer will be introducing its successful K30 ES and K30 Vario grinders in this new, ventilated version.

The benefits of the new models include increased performance and lower temperatures, the company said in a statement. Rear ventilation immediately above the motor cools the motor using air circulation and minimises heat transfer from the motor to the grinder casing. This means the temperature of the coffee being ground stays below 50°C, even during busy periods, which is beneficial for the flavour of the coffee.

As well as reducing the temperature of the ground coffee, this active cooling is designed to increase maximum daily production by more than 100 per cent, without overheating the grinder. The efficient fan adapts itself to the temperature of the motor, meaning ventilation noise is kept to a minimum and only becomes louder if grinding is frequent.

The company said that customers with current K30 ES or Vario model grinders can update those models with a retrofit kit offered by trained service partners.

Other model variants of the grind-on-demand espresso grinder that will be on display at Internorga include the patented K30 RFID, which provides monitoring and data exchange functions between the espresso grinder and the coffee bag or a chip card. Mahlkoenig said that restaurant and coffee shop owners may also be particularly interested in the K30's ability to connect to conventional cash register interfaces using integrated software and USB cables.

At Internoga, the Mahlkoenig stand will have its own Brew Bar, where coffee connoisseurs will be able to see the grinders in action. Visitors will also be able to try exclusive coffee varieties, brewed in a variety of methods. The top quality coffees, specially roasted for the event, will be supplied by ANDRASCHKO Kaffee Manufaktur in Berlin.
