CEMS, the Singapore-based conference and exhibition company that hosts the Cafe Asia event, is launching a new coffee expo in Malaysia. This will be Malaysia's first major coffee event, taking place from 7 – 9 May at the MATRADE Exhibition and Convention Centre in Kuala Lumpur. The event will host the Malaysia National Brewer's Cup Championships and the Malaysian Latte Art Championships, hosted by the newly formed Malaysian Specialty Coffee Association (MSCA). In its official statement, CEMS noted that Malaysia has seen a growing number of specialty coffee drinkers over the years, and also a significant increase in the number of cafés. The MSCA said it is currently working towards being a trustee of World Coffee Events for Malaysia. The MSCA recently joined the ASEAN Coffee Federation.
