McDonald’s coffee-focused offshoot, McCafé, appears to be taking off with a newly announced deal to supply Canadian airline WestJet with coffee for its inflight service. McCafé has developed a specially formulated brew to suit the conditions in the air, where peoples’ tastebuds are significantly less sensitive. In order to make up for this, the McCafé brew will be made using a darker roasted bean and hotter water than usual. The airline plans to serve up to 30,000 cups of the McCafé coffee per day.
