The Specialty Coffee Association of Europe (SCAE) announced on 12 December that it will welcome representatives from th undefined
e world’s top coffee producing countries to its Nordic World of Coffee Event.
The exhibition is taking place from 16 – 18 June at the Swedish Exhibition & Congress Centre in Gothenburg.
More than 10 countries of origin will be exhibiting at the event, including representatives from African Fine Coffees Association, Anacafé, Brazil Speciality Coffee Association, Café De Costa Rica, Café Honduras, CSC (Consejo Salvadoreño Del Café) and PRONicaragua.
Femke de Jong from CBI, the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs, will bring 20 companies from five countries, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua and Uganda, to Gothenburg for the event.
“World of Coffee is an important event for us as it is the biggest show in Europe that is dedicated to specialty coffee. It provides us with an opportunity to introduce farmers directly to importers and buyers, so they can share their story and learn more about the export markets,” said de Jong in a statement released by the SCAE.
CBI brought representative organisations from producing countries together for the first time at World of Coffee Rimini 2014. “It was a huge success and we received a lot of great feedback,” said de Jong. “We have high expectations for the Nordic World of Coffee when it is held in Gothenburg as we know that the Nordic people are very knowledgeable about coffee. They want to know where their coffee came from and how it was produced so we expect visitors to be highly engaged.”
World of Coffee is expected to attract over 5000 visitors this year.
“The Nordic World of Coffee Gothenburg 2015 will provide coffee buyers, roasters, baristas and hospitality operators with a great opportunity to meet the world’s best coffee producers and learn about what’s happening at origin,” said SCAE Executive Director David Veal in the statement. “This is the largest number of coffee producing countries that we will welcome in the 15-year history of World of Coffee and with many more countries set to sign-up in the coming months, we expect The Nordic World of Coffee to be the definitive guide to coffee origins in 2015.”
Held in a different European city each summer, World of Coffee is a premier event to showcase and learn about new trends, developments and innovations in coffee. More than 200 of the world’s most influential coffee producers and suppliers are expected to exhibit at the Swedish Exhibition & Congress Centre on 16-18 June.
Exhibitors announced that over 85 per cent of space is now sold, and the remaining stands are in high demand. Suppliers already confirmed include Beyond the Bean, BWT Water+More, DR Wakefield, Marco Beverage Systems, Nuova Simonelli, Pentair, Probat, Technivorm and more.
The Nordic World of Coffee will host five World Championships (the World Cup Tasters Championship, World Coffee Roasting Championship, World Latte Art Championship, World Coffee in Good Spirits Championship and World Brewers Cup), the first Re:co speciality coffee symposium, SCAE’s education program, the SCAE Excellence Awards, New Products of the Show Awards, SCAE’s annual Photography Competition and more.
