Modern Processing Equipment (MPE) has supplied Ferris Coffee and Nut with a new MPE Chain-Vey coffee plant. The specialty coffee roaster located in Grand Rapids, Michigan, will utilise Chain-Vey conveyors throughout the facility to move all green, whole-bean and ground coffee. “With the installation of the new system, we’ve managed to meet all the needs that drove the project in the first place,” said Sam Mirto, Director of Coffee. “We love the efficiency and flexibility of the system.” Ferris Coffee opted for the complete MPE system, from dump stations to roasting, grinding and packing. MPE said the turnkey solution would help Ferris Coffee achieve the highest level of efficiency, sanitation and quality assurance. It said the optional clear tubing of the Chain-Vey system makes it easy to follow the entire production process. As well as wholesaling coffee, Ferris Coffee and Nut roasts nut and nut mixes which it sells at its coffee bar and retail store.
