Nescafé Milano 2.0 has been awarded a Red Dot Design Award, Nestlé announced on 18 August. Rolled out commercially to food service operators in 2013, the Nescafé Milano 2.0 was awarded the “Communication Design 2014: Software Interface and Usability” prize for overall concept idea, user friendliness and visual design. Past winners of the Red Dot award, affiliated with German-based design consultant Peter Zec, have included Nestlé’s Nespresso premium brand, BMW and Apple's iPad Mini. The Red Dot committee received around 15,500 applications alone from vendors in 70 countries in 2013.
