Nespresso has moved to address ongoing criticism about the sustainability of its market-leading single-serve coffee capsules by teaming up with Australia’s postal service to devise a mail-back recycling scheme. Nespresso will work with Australia Post to encourage customers to send back their used coffee capsules in specially-designed water-tight and reply-paid satchels. Nespresso already encourages customers to return their used coffee pods to just over 300 locations around Australia, however this scheme will expand the number of drop-off points to almost 20,0000 around the country. The satchels can hold up to 130 capsules and will cost consumers AU$1.90 each.
