Neumann Gruppe USA has announced a new partnership with agricultural service GrainPro which hopes to build a more sustainable green coffee industry.
Coffee roasters and green buyers with Neumann Gruppe USA have the option to participate in recycling GrainPro hermetic bags, TranSafeliners and other liners used in the chemical-free preservation of premium coffee beans.
“It’s our goal to be a responsible partner and leader in the green coffee industry, which means guiding the way toward improved sustainability,” says Neumann Gruppe USA CEO Nicolas Rueda. “We’re delighted to encourage the success of this effort by communicating its availability to our clients and networks.”
The recycling plan is also in partnership with warehousing company Continental Terminals. US-based roasters can send their used liners to Continental Terminals locations in Keasbey, New Jersey or Alameda, California via their preferred service or by personal delivery.
Once the bags reach a Continental Terminals warehouse, they will then be sent off to a unique recycling facility.
Roasters willing to participate can email sustainability@grainpro.com to state an expression of interest. Then, participants are encouraged to put clean, empty bags in a box or GrainPro bag and prepare to send it to a Continental Terminals location.
Those who intend on mailing their bags to one of the warehouses can send them to the following addresses:
CTI Annex
300 Mitchell Ave
Alameda, CA 94501
CTI NJ
300 Mac Lane
Keasbey, NJ 08832
Neumann Gruppe USA hopes to expand its partnership with GrainPro to similar collection efforts across Europe in the near future.
