The 4C Verification system will be soon managed by a new verification company, Coffee Assurance Services, according to a statement from the organisation. 4C is in the process of setting up the new entity, which will manage verification operations once it is operational. “We believe that innovation is one of the key elements for the success,” a spokesperson said in a statement. The 4C standard is the coffee industry’s most widespread sustainability benchmark, covering almost a third of coffee producers worldwide. The organisation aims to unite all relevant coffee stakeholders in working towards the improvement of the economic, social and environmental conditions of coffee production and processing to build a thriving, sustainable sector for generations to come. The 4C Verification system is operating as usual regarding the assessment of new applications, license renewals and the other related procedures until the new entity is established.
