José Sette has taken office as the Executive Director of the International Coffee Organization (ICO) at its new headquarters in London. Sette graduated from Yale University in the United States with a degree in Administrative Sciences and holds an MBA with specialisation in Finance from the American University. He has more than 30 years of experience in international trade in both the public and the private sectors during which he held the following positions: Executive Director of the International Cotton Advisory Committee (ICAC) in Washington, United States; Executive Director and interim and Head of Operations of the International Coffee Organization (ICO) in London, United Kingdom; Secretary-General of the Brazilian Association of Coffee Exporters in Santos, Brazil; Head of Economic Research Department and coffee trader at InterContinental de Café S/A in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil; and Head of International Treaties Division, Department of Studies in Coffee Economics at Instituto Brasileiro de Café (IBC) in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
