The judges and emcees for Coffee Masters New York City have been revealed ahead of the event from 13 to 15 October at the Metropolitan Pavilion in New York. Judging this year’s competition will be Anne Lunell, Head Judge and Swedish Barista and Brewers Cup Champion, Dan Streetman of Irving Farm Coffee Roasters, Heather Perry of Klatch, David Donde for Truth Coffee, and Kris Schackman of Five Elephant Coffee Roastery, Lem Butler, 2016 United States Barista Champion and Co-owner of Black Alley and Black and White Coffee Roasters will emcee alongside Jordan Michelman of Sprudge. Coffee Masters is a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary global barista tournament that will see 16 baristas from across the globe go head to head in a series of battles to test their skills in six different challenges, emulating the busy working environment of a professional barista. The knockout format of Coffee Masters sees baristas demonstrate their skills in Cupping, Brewing, Latte Art, The Order Challenge, The Signature Drink and, in the event they make it through to the semi-finals, The Espresso Blend round. The winner of NY Coffee Masters will receive a US$5000 cheque. The New York Coffee Festival is New York’s flagship coffee event, celebrating the city’s burgeoning specialty coffee scene.
