The Specialty Coffee Association (SCA) has opened nominations for the 2022 SCA Sustainability Awards.
The Sustainability Awards celebrate individuals, projects, and businesses that have created innovative projects or business models shown to expand and promote sustainability within the coffee world while inspiring others to initiate similar endeavours.
The 2022 awards will include three categories: Project, Business Model, and Individual.
The Project award celebrates innovative programs that expand and promote sustainability within the coffee world.
This could be through raising awareness of key issues or developing a project or business model that generates positive social and environmental impacts.
Individuals, organisations, businesses, farms and cooperatives may submit applications for multiple projects or programs.
The Business Model award recognises the hard work of individuals, businesses and organisations who have created and implemented sustainable frameworks.
This annual award is open to SCA members who are involved in the coffee industry.
The Individual award recognises an individual leader who has significantly contributed to advancing sustainability in the coffee industry.
This could be through raising awareness of key issues or developing a project or business model that generates positive social and environmental impacts.
The Sustainability Committee of the SCA Sustainability Center will review all applications submitted through its website.
The committee says it will consider a wide range of applicants, reflecting the depth and breadth of sustainable work being done in all areas across the specialty coffee industry.
Nominations must be submitted by 7 January 2022, and award recipients will be notified by 24 January 2022.
