Leading representatives from right across the coffee industry, including the senior management team of the Specialty Coffee Association led by CEO Ric Rhinehart, gathered at the new Nuova Simonelli headquarters in Belfore del Chienti on 25 October. Attendees came together to discuss innovation and the challenges facing the industry. The gathering heard a presentation from Simonelli Group’s Chairman Nando Ottavi and Fabio Corradini, who is the Rector at the University of Camerino, which is the home of Nuova Simonelli’s International Hub for Coffee Research and Innovation, about the scientific and technological cooperation between the two organisations. The event also featured a panel discussion between senior SCA representatives and the Simonelli Group’s CEO, Fabio Ceccarani, which was moderated by former World Barista Champion, Jame Hoffman. Guests were also given a tour of the company’s new 3000 square metre facility, which produces 35,000 Nuova Simonelli and Victoria Arduino machines per year, and also houses the Simonelli Research Centre, which is the home of the company’s Research and Development functions.
