Nuova Simonelli has revealed that it sold a record number of more than 22,000 coffee machines in 2014. Its professional espresso machines were sold in 120 countries, with the Aurelia II and Appia II the highest in demand. Together the Aurelia II and Appia II accounted for 60 per cent of sales in 2014. “Both have been recently enhanced, in terms of both technology and style, with particular attention to ergonomics,” said Nuova Simonelli, in a statement. “The Aurelia II includes T3, the innovative technology which is used in the world championships for baristas.” The Aurelia II V version has volumetric dosage, the S version manual dosage and the Digit is designed to be extremely simple to use. The Appia II is comes in one, two and three-group models, as well a compact version. The one-group and compact version both have volumetric and manual dosage. The Streamer Coffee Chain in Gohongi, Japan has combined two Aurelias using a single black panel. The six-group machine can simultaneously dispense 12 coffees and is the largest Nuova Simonelli espresso machine in the world.
