Nuova Simonelli started construction on a new US$4 million building at its facility in Belforte del Chienti, Italy on 23 June. The coffee machine manufacturer invited guests from around the globe to sign the first stone at a foundation laying ceremony, during Simonelli and Friends, a meeting for its operators and customers. Hidenori Izaki from Japan, the new World Barista Champion, was among the attendees to sign the stone. “The growing leadership of Nuova Simonelli in the world market of professional espresso and cappuccino machines implies the need for the company to offer more and more services, not only with assistance abroad, but also for the increasing number of foreign operators who arrive every month at Belforte del Chienti,” said President and CEO, Nando Ottavi, in a statement. The new 3000-metre-square building will have several floors and a direct connection to the technical and production area. It will include a management and operational area, meeting rooms, showroom and a company museum. Nuova Simonelli said that the investment should ensure a continued increase in the ability of all departments to meet the needs of its customers.
