Nuova Simonelli will host a new Q Arabica Grader course for coffee professionals from 10 to 15 September. Q Arabica Grader’s are highly trained and calibrated coffee tasters who evaluate coffee using Specialty Coffee Association (SCA) cupping standards and protocols. Led by Roukiat Delrue, this year’s event will take attendees through two complementary concepts – a three-day theory session on all coffee activities, followed by a three-day series of exams regarding the material presented. The course includes various activities to test the cuppers’ skills in evaluating a coffee in a traditional cupping format, olfactory senses, green coffee grading, acid identification, basic cupping skill evaluations, sensory skills tests and roasted coffee tests. Upon successful completion of the course, the students will receive a Q Grader certificate, valid for 36 months. The event is open to coffee professionals, including baristas, roasters and producers who already have advanced knowledge of the coffee world. To participate in the course email academy@simonelligroup.it by 30 July. For more information, visit www.nuovasimonelli.it/en/
