Opem is opening its new production facility with a ribbon cutting ceremony at the site in Parma, Italy on 26 September. Located in an industrial area of Parma, Opem’s new facility will increase the company’s capacity for production and assembly, as well as providing new office spaces. Opem General Manager, Ombretta Sarassi, said the grand opening is an important milestone for the packaging equipment company, and also for the local area where it has its roots. Sarassi said that with its new production facility, it is reiterating its commitment to the area and its desire to invest in the labour market, despite the difficulties experienced by Italian companies over the past few years. “Doing a good job means creating new jobs,” said Sarassi. “Being in business is very demanding, but there’s a great deal of satisfaction too. Our new facility is one such source of satisfaction.” The building is subdivided into a production and assembly area of 12,000 square metres with 4700 square metres of office space. Among those attending the event will be Federico Pizzarotti, the Mayor of Parma and Nicola Cesari, the Mayor of Sorbolo, in the province of Parma.
