American coffee chain Peet’s Coffee is introducing delivery through the Peet’s app on iPhone and Android, ensuring customers’ hand-crafted beverages, beans, and breakfast items are delivered directly to their door.

As the need for on-demand delivery continues to grow, the coffee chain, established in Berkeley, California in 1966, says enjoying expertly crafted offerings at home is now more accessible than ever.

Delivery with the Peet’s app allows users to reap the benefits of the contactless ordering and delivery experience, providing a streamlined service that is convenient and rewards customers with each transaction.

Mobile app users also have access to the Peetnik Rewards loyalty program, whereby members receive a free beverage of choice after their first purchase, earn points towards free beverages, get access to a secret Member’s Only Menu, and other perks.

This feature is now available in 204 Peet’s operated coffee bar locations across the United States.

Until 31 August, Peet’s is offering free delivery and waiving delivery service fees on orders made through the Peet’s app. Delivery hours vary by location.

Despite the impact of COVID-19 on retail services in the US, JDE Peet’s report mostly positive financial results for the first half of 2020, thanks largely to the in-home consumer packaged goods offered by Peet’s and its sister brands.

“JDE Peet’s delivered strong performance in the first half of 2020, demonstrating the resilience of our business and brands despite the unprecedented economic and social disruption of COVID-19,” JDE Peet’s CEO Casey Keller says.

“Our balanced coffee and tea portfolio allowed us to quickly adapt to rapidly changing consumer habits, following the dynamic shift of cups from the away-from-home to the in-home environment.”

Coffee shops around the world have embraced delivery, takeaway, and dirve-through option in the face of COVID-19 restrictions. Starbucks, for example, boasts a strong relationship with Uber Eats in the US and other markets.
